This film could have actually been three separate films; the destruction of Krypton, the little boy wonder growing up in Smallville and aliens invade the earth. There were plenty of special effects in this film, almost to the point of overkill. I actually liked the Krypton special effects the best. I thought they were the most creative. When I called my sister and asked her how she liked the film, the first thing that she said was “it was long”. I must say >> Read more

Man of Steel the much anticipated reimagined Superman tale was so much less than anticipated by me. Having grown up with the comic books, seen the story played out on television and in theaters for more than 4 decades I was just done. This is the end of the way I view a film as a comedy. I experienced some of the funniest and some of the most disturbing situations imaginable in this film that played out one possibility in biblical proportion of how the world would end. The fact that everyone used their own names made the story have a realism about it that even further played into the comedy. I don’t typically associate special effects with a comedy, but this film >> Read more

I have to say that this is not one of M. Night Shyamalan’s best works. Usually there is an element of surprise somewhere in his films; this one did not have any. In fact it kind of felt like a video game where every level gets a little more difficult until you arrive at the final stage and collect the prize at the end. This film is basically about a son who >> Read more

I was wondering what M. Night Shyamalan was up to since his last not so endearing live action take on one of my favorite animated tales The Last Airbender. It seems that he sat back kicked up his heels and crafted a story from a brand new perspective. This was a family film for the most part >> Read more

Chix Ratings
Our rating system is very simple. We believe you are intelligent enough to decide whether you will find an appreciation of a film by knowing if someone else would either recommend seeing it, offer indifference or advise against it. We have applied the basic images that you see every day and the greenlight align's with the Hollywood lingo to make a film.
Go and see the film, totally worthwhile!
Proceed with caution, see it or skip it; not compelling either way.
Stop and reconsider, possibly see when it arrives on video.
